April Reading Wrap Up

 

13 Books. All 4 Stars. Zero Regrets.

It's my April reading wrap-up and I genuinely can’t believe every single one of these landed. 13 books. 13 four-star reads. Not one disappointment.

I grouped them by vibe because that felt more honest than just listing titles. Some were pure thriller adrenaline, some wrecked me emotionally, and some were just the kind of books I’d push into anyone’s hands without warning. It heavy audio month. Nine of these were listens.

The standout was I See You've Called in Dead by John Kennedy. An obituary writer accidentally publishes his own obit and somehow ends up learning how to live. It's funny, sad, and completely unexpected.

March reading wrap-up 

March was one of my best months in a long time.

16 books. Seven 5-star reads. I definitely got on a reading hot streak in March.

February Wrap Up

 

I read 12 books in February — and two of them made me consider lowering my standards.

Kidding. (Mostly.)

Overall, this was a strong reading month. Nine solid four-star reads, one five-star knockout, and two that just… didn’t hit the way I hoped.

Let’s start with the standout:

⭐ Adrift — the only five-star of the month.

Claustrophobic, brutal, and completely absorbing. I was tense the entire time. This one earned its place at the top.

The steady four-star stack? They’re impressive and really good. It was mix of that kept me entertained and turning pages. No regrets there.

And then the two three-stars:

They weren’t bad. They just weren’t memorable.

One was heavier than I expected.

One had a premise I loved but didn’t fully deliver for me.

I’m a generous reader. If I’m not enjoying something, I usually stop reading. So if it made it to the finish line, there was something there.

Still… not every book can be the one that takes over your brain.

Overall verdict? A good month, but I’m greedy. I always want more five-star magic.

January Reading Wrap Up

 

January was a surprisingly strong reading month, especially on audio.

A lot of solid four-star reads, a few true standouts, and only one that didn’t quite click. Audiobooks did most of the heavy lifting.

It’s June and I’m hoping we finally get some summer weather here. It seemed like it rained almost every day in May. 

I read 18 books last month. Ten were print (either kindle or physical) and 8 were audiobooks. Ten of the 18 were library books, 7 were either #gifted from publishers, influencer programs or NetGalley. One audiobook was purchased because I knew my husband wanted to read it too.
