Happy Wednesday bookish friends! Fangirl Down by Tessa Bailey had all the banter, the sparks, and the golf that I didn’t know I needed.
Josephine has been professional golfer Wells Whitaker’s biggest fan for years, but when his career hits rock bottom and her pro shop is wrecked by a hurricane, he offers her a wild deal. She becomes his caddie. As they tour together, their lines blur between fangirl and partner, forcing both of them to reckon with what it means to believe, in themselves and in each other.
You all know I’m not a huge romance reader. TBH, it was the golf that drew me to this book and ended up really enjoying this one. I liked the opposites attract vibe, the banter, and the golf. It was also spicy. I appreciated that Wells found Josephine even more attractive when he saw her smooth golf swing. Bailey also does a wonderful job representing a chronic illness. Josephine is a type 1 diabetic and that’s a thread that runs throughout the story. Callie Dalton’s narration is perfectly fun and flirty.
If you love grumpy × sunshine chemistry, high stakes, and a sporty but heartfelt love story, this one’s a must-read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
What’s a book that made you fangirl so hard you couldn’t stop talking about it?
